FARGO — Zion Brooks has been identified as the victim of the fatal shooting that occurred that happened in the parking lot at The Arbors apartment complex on June 24, in Fargo.

Brooks was a 24-year-old Fargo resident, according to a release from the Fargo Police Department.
His neighbors told The Forum that Brooks was a 'respectful' young man who was a well-liked, long term resident at The Arbors.

Police have located both of the vehicles that are believed to have fled the scene, however they are still looking for their "person of interest," J’Veonte Malike Logan, 20, in connection with the fatal shooting, according to a Facebook post made by the Fargo Police Department.

Logan also uses the first name Amire. Police have identified him as a "person of interest" in the homicide of a resident of the apartments, located on the 2200 block of Sixth Avenue South.

Logan was believed to be driving the vehicle that police just located — a gray 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with North Dakota plates 628 DZR. Police previously posted an alert for the vehicle, noting the car was seen speeding away from the scene after the shooting.
Emergency personnel responded to shooting reports at The Arbors at McCormick Park just after 8 p.m. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to a release from the Fargo Police Department.
Police advised the public not to approach or attempt to apprehend Logan. Anyone who encounters or has seen him is encouraged to call 911 and share relevant information with details such as the location he was last seen, his last known direction of travel, a description of the clothing he was wearing and information about anyone who may be with him.
The release asked those with information on the whereabouts of Logan or his vehicle to call the Red River Regional Dispatch Center's non-emergency line at 701-451-7660 and ask to speak with a shift commander or text a tip with keyword FARGOPD to 847411.
