Falrvlew chapter. No. 161. R.A.M.. and Mont Jole 'Boiler Room 'Raid Causes Action The charter of Teamsters union local 740 has been withdrawn, it jwas learned yesterday, because of charges of fraudulent fund collecting- done in its name by John A.

Thomas, professional solicitor who was arrested last Wednesday in his loop office and is charged with obtaining money under false pretenses. The local is the second organization which has been disowned by a parent body for having done 'business with Thomas, operator of a 'boiler room," or concentration of telephone solicitors. The charter of Navy Club Ship 56 was suspended Saturday, Made Plea For Orphans In the name of the Navy Thomas and his telephone solio: raised money to take orphans to the Railroad fair, to entertain at veterans' hospitals, and to hold a Christmas dance. In the name of Edwin Aaron, secretary-treasurer of th Teamsters he appealed for money for a weekly union Ray Schoessling, secretary of the joint Teamsters council in Chicago, said that the charter was revoked as soon as the local's connection with Thomas 'was learned. He said that upon Thomas' arrest he had summoned to his office and warned to cease using the union's Organized By Aaron Schoessling said that local 740 was organized by Aaron himself last winter, supposedly to cover jNegro livery cab drivers on the side.

He said he was "not satisfied" that Aaron made any attempt to sign up these drivers. Instead, Schoessling said, Aaron apparently used his charter as a means of raising money. SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 2i2t west Bta rrRsrr ECTS 8-2163 RCCZEZ-EenrjSr. 2 la efcareh. CVLVTR-CharlM C.

JOHN CARROLL SONS "Heme For Funerals" Sr! at Wabash WBliehall 4-e060 4M2 Rartraw1 At. I-C30S Main Roads Open To meet the emergency. Regional Forester E. B. Rice ordered all the Payette and Boise National forests and a portion of the Sawtooth forest closed to vacationers.

Motorists may traverse the forested areas only on main highways. "The fires are still spreading and all are out of control," said Joe Hesse 1, Payette forest public information officer. They now cover an estimated 15,000 acres. Fifty more men were added to the 1,500 already on the fire Unes. 1,000 Acres Destroyed A fast moving -fire in the Black1 Hills National forest in South Dakota also got completely out of hand last night, forest rangers' said.

About 1,000 acres of Woodland were estimated to have been' destroyed. There are no towns in the immediate forest area. Maine, too, had Its troubles. More than a dozen fires crackled in sun baked woods which officials said were in near-explosive condition. Rainfall and rising humidity in Yellowstone park eased the task of 900 fire fighters battling a 4,000 acre blaze, the Wyoming park's largest fire in 18 Qiebec School Bums QUEBEC, Aug.

Springfield, which has had 57 cases and 10 deaths from polio, lifted its polio quarantine at midnight last night. The quarantine; in effect since July 27, had confined children under 16 to their own premises. Appeal For More Nurses Theater owners and others reported sharp declines in business as a result of the quarantine. All but 16 of the cases and three of the deaths were reported before the quarantine was established. Dr.

J. H. Sham el, city health superintendent, said no new cases had been reported in the last four days, and that results of the quarantine "appear gratifying." Miss Lona L. Trott of St. Louis, midwest director of nursing services for the Red Cross, said 14 midwest states need at least 100 more registered nurses to handle polio cases and urged any nurses available to contact their local Red Cross chapters.
